Celebrate the start of the Tokyo Olympics and all things Japanese with our new and unique treasure trail of Japan in London. A totally different type of experience from our fully inclusive guided tours, Tokyo on Thames, is a fun, self-guided tour where you are in the “driving seat” as you solve clues to navigate your way through our adventure trail.

Join our half-day experience and discover Japan’s hidden gems the heart of London. From quirky Japanese popular culture, to traditional Japanese arts and crafts. Uncover little known facts about Japan tucked away amongst London’s famous landmarks.

All Aboard!

During this fun, self-guided tour the Wendy Wu team will be on hand along the way, imparting their expert knowledge of Japan with you, whilst providing you with clues to unlock the next Japanese hidden gem. Tower Bridge forms the backdrop to the start of your cultural experience as Wendy herself will greet you outside our London HQ before you jump aboard the Thames Clipper, soaking in the sights and skyline along the river as you puzzle over our first brain teasing clue.

A leisurely day, with an air of discovery and mystery, as you solve our tricky (and not so tricky) clues whilst experiencing many Japanese delights along the way. A great day out for all the family, from grandparents to grandchildren, or as group of friends, team up and enjoy the highlights of Japan and London rolled into one.

Rekindle the flames of London 2012

Enjoy a truly memorable finish to your adventure as you pose for a commemorative photograph with an official London 2012 torch and torch bearer at your final stop.

On the day

The event takes place in central London, starting at Wendy Wu Tours HQ on the banks of the Thames, close to London Bridge Station. You can participate as part of a team, as a couple or even go solo if you prefer. This fun day out is suitable for all ages and would be an excellent day out for family and friends alike.

There is a choice of start times between 10.30am and 1.30pm, the trail should take approximately 3 hours to complete, but please go at your own pace. Enjoyment is the name of the day!

During the event you’ll see many of London’s great sights along with some hidden Japanese gems that we’ve unearthed for you. Our team will be on hand throughout the day, meeting you at various stopping points to impart information and clues.

Without giving too much away, included in the day is a journey along the Thames from London Bridge heading west, past St Paul’s, The Globe Theatre and Cleopatra’s needle. The day will involve walking, but you may wish to avail yourself of other means of transportation, such as a bus, tube or taxi – the choice is yours. Only transportation on the Thames Clipper is included in the ticket price, any other transportation used will incur a cost to yourself on the day.
