Responsible travel is all about minimising the negative impact of travel on the environment, the way of life and the economy of a destination. At Wendy Wu Tours, we are committed to addressing this impact wherever possible without compromising your experience.

We believe that when visiting a place, it is important to not only feel, see, learn and experience, but to also give something back. We do this partly by supporting charities in Asia; and also by supporting local business and enterprise, for example including locally-owned restaurants and shops on our itineraries where possible. This is something that also enhances your holiday, as you get to taste more authentic local foods and see and learn about traditional crafts.

In addition, with Responsible Tourism in mind, for every person who travels with Wendy Wu Tours, we make a donation to a carefully selected charity based in the countries we operate. The following are some of the charities which we are proud to support:

Cambodia Scholarship Fund

Wendy Wu Tours founded a scholarship programme for 25 underprivileged children in Cambodia. The programme allows children in Siem Reap to access education, and all the associated individual and community benefits that come with this.

When the programme launched in November 2023, Wendy Wu Tours Owner and Founder, Wendy, said:

“Education is very close to my heart, a factor that has always and will always continue to guide and steer me in my lifelong journey in better myself, both professionally and personally. Children deserve the right to an education. However, there are so many who face incredible disadvantages and challenges that, very often, the struggle is just not feasible.

“This really does break my heart and so if we, at Wendy Wu Tours, can do anything to help and enrich even just a small fraction of these children’s’ lives through the scholarship programme, then we will have made some progress.”

She added: “Our commitment to the children in Siem Reap is a lifelong commitment and we hope, that over time, we’ll be able to develop the programme and help more children through education.”
