This extension is suitable for those who wish to visit the exciting city of Chengdu, home of the Giant Panda. This extension is private and therefore not all meals are included, which gives you the opportunity to occasionally select your own dining venue, allowing you to immerse further into Chinese culture.
Transfer from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Visit the Panda Conservation Centre to see the pandas being reared in surroundings reminiscent of their natural habitat. Also visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project (B,L)
Travel to Leshan to visit the remarkable Grand Buddha, the world's largest stone carved Buddhist statue. Take a short boat trip to view the statue. Carved into the side of Lingyun Mountain, work on the statue began in 713AD and was completed in 803AD. Return to Chengdu. (B,L)
